All teams please be at the Field 45 minutes before your schedule game time to have your Pictures taken. Pictures will be taken at the Open Soccer Field by the Concession Stand. Just look for the Pop-Up Tents. Picture Forms will be available if needed. Always check this Web-Site for updated Practice and Game status. ---------------------------------------------- *** Attention ALL Parents and Coaches *** The 2008 Schedules are now posted on the NAYSA Home Page -- Click on the 'Schedules' ICON. ---------------------------------------------- *** Soccer Practice *** 13 & Under Division ONLY: NAYSA does not have the 13 & Under Field on Tuesday and Thursday. If you plan on having practice either of these night please use the 14 & Over field. Thank You. -------------------------------------------- NAYSA Parent’s Meeting Minutes April 27, 2008 Introduction of Board Members Discussion of Rules: Parents will need to sit on the opposite side of the players. Please make accommodations when it is sunny/hot, like bringing an umbrella. Picture Day will take place on May 17. Picnic Day is on June 14. If there are any issues on the day of the game such as referee’s calls, problems, etc. please see the Coordinator of the Day. The names are listed on the website and can be checked prior to going to the game or go to the Concession Stand to find out. Parents: Please refer to the website for all updates and NAYSA information, rules, board member’s phone numbers, etc. The website is the primary source of information, especially when field conditions due to rain don’t permit us to practice or play. During the referee clinic, our players were instructed on offsides, and other game plays. It is sometimes hard for the referee to see all plays in action and we need to remember that they may miss a few calls. They will do their best but everyone should refrain from yelling at them, refrain from swearing since the parent can be carded and restricted from the game, and instead we want to encourage all children to play to their ability. The clinic also addressed issues like player attire, safety issues like dangerous plays, not playing the ball when the player is on the ground, and reminders to blow the whistle and announce the call loudly. We still need to remember, especially in the younger division like 6 and Under where there will be less emphasis on calls and more on teaching the players plays and developing skills, that our referees may not make every call that every parent can see. There will not be tolerance for inappropriate language/behavior out on the field. We do not have a fundraiser which would help keep our costs down but we encourage everyone to help support NAYSA by attending the picnic in June. We are not asking for donations, the prices are low, and a great time will be had by all. However, we need for parents to sign up as volunteers for an hour perhaps before or after your child’s game.
